Help me pick between two essays please!

It's for a topic-of-your-choice, no-word-limit prompt.

The first is all about strategy board games and what I've learned from them.

The second is sort of a walkthrough of what my days were like when I lived in Brazil.

Some background on that:
I was depressed and I hated living there, especially going to school. I tutored for 6 months to raise enough money to buy myself a plane ticket and come back to the US. I lived on my own at first here, and what happened after that is a different story. I know attend a school that I enjoy and am much happier, despite many other difficulties.

Let me know if I can PM you links to both, thank you!

Your experience in Brazil sounds more interesting.

Definitely the second one!

Your Brazil experience is unique to you. I would suggest going with that story, just be sure that what you write about is a resolved issue.

Good luck!

As a side note, the Brazil essay is very long (1000+ words) while the board game essay is 400.

Definitely second; can you try to cut the essay? The adcom probably won’t like getting a 1000 word essay no matter how good when the max is 500 words.

pm them to me. :)

2nd

Unless your first:

conveys your best qualities

describes how the game has impacted you -> hobby time

what you learned from the game -> learn how to improvise and make crucial decisions

how you are a better thinker after playing -> chess : )

aren’t stupid games like snakes and ladder
