Help me pick me top 5 awards!

Okay, so I have a lot of awards through high school, but I'm not really sure which ones are worth including on the common app and which aren't. I've been able to narrow it down a lot on my own, but I need help narrowing it down more.

Here's my list:

(a) Won the Illinois Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, made it into the final round of Nationals, one of 6 finalists in my category

(b) won second place at the Columbia College National Young Author's Competition, Creative Nonfiction Category

(c) Was two years in a row a national semifinalist for the united nations association essay contest

(d) National AP Scholar (worth listing considering I already list all my AP scores?)

(e) National Merit Semifinalist (worth listing considering how many people get this award?)

(f) Winner of a regional Brain Bee, which means I qualify for the national competition (also, its the only brain bee in IL, so it's kind of a state competition, I guess)

(g) Presented, by invitation, at the American Junior Academy of Science Convention (noncompetitive, though)

(h) Recieved Superior at the State History Fair, Research Paper division as a freshman

(i) won 3rd place twice at Math Field Day, with competitors from over 3 states

(j) qualifying for and competiting at state math competition, science fair

Please help me rank these awards! I asked my guidance counselor to do so, but he was absolutely no help (of course!)

a and d for sure
after that…I’m not too sure.
good luck!

You can just add a resume/CV/activity sheet you know.

I think they’re all worth including. Why not just put everything you can’t fit in the additional info section?

I really should have made some sort of effort to win an award before I applied to college… I just hate doing things dishonestly…

(I’m not suggesting that mermaid123456 did anything dishonest, but if I ever tried to go after awards like that… I wouldn’t be doing it for myself.)

They are all worth listing.

Just list all of them.

But if you have to choose: a, b, e, f, i

Please help! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/832442-sat-ii-scores-ones-take.html

The common app gives you the option of attaching an additional sheet and I suggest you do it, that way you do not have to eliminate any of your awards. That is what I did.

thanks for all the replies! I would attach an additional sheet, but I was planning on using the additional info section to submit a summary of my science project. Can I do both?

And ncm2012, I replied to your post. :)

Usually schools allow you to submit supplemental material through a process that is specific to each school. This allows you to use the additional space to include other awards.

You should check the admissions website of the schools to which you are applying to see how they go about accepting supplemental materials.
