Help me pick my computer science school

Hey everyone. I'm having a hard time deciding on which school to attend. I've applied and been admitted to Ohio State University and Purdue University. I live in Ohio and went to visit OSU and was not very impressed with their computer science facilities. The comp science buildings look like they haven't been renovated since the 70's. Now I know computer science at the under grad level is not ranked, but at the graduate level Newsweek ranks Purdue 20th and OSU 35th.

I'm going to visit Purdue next week. This coming semester Purdue is going to be opening a new computer science building. A lot of people tell me that Purdue is just a better school for computer science. I will probably know better after I visit.

So what I'm wondering is will the extra cost of going to Purdue benefit me in the end if I decide to go there over OSU. Is Purdue really a better school than OSU? Is there any website or any place I can go to find out more information?

Thanks.

I do not think Purdue is worth the extra cost. Case Western might be another option, but expensive. Are your grades good enough for Carnegie Mellon, U Rochester, RPI, Syracuse, or U Pittsburgh?

Purdue undergrad comp sci is not rated very high in the Gourman Report or in Rugg's Recommendations. This surprised me. I would get some other opinions, but Purdue does not seem very strong in comp sci to me.

Well I plan to start school in the Winter/Spring and I only applied to OSU and Purdue, so it's one of those two. Perhaps I will transfer in the future. I'll look into those books that you mentioned.
