I recently got accepted to UT Honors Engineering and the Illinois Institute of Technology. I got no clue which to pick, I've researched everything I can about each school. It is about the same price to go to each one once my scholarships are factored in.

I guess it just comes down to, what place do you want to be more(ie campus, people, etc).. They are both great programs, and you will be about the same financially coming in, and have a the same financial reward coming out probably. Have you visited either campus?

IIT is in the middle of the ghetto, and there is really nothing to do withoi\ut going into the downtown area, which isnt always practical. There is 3 guys to every girl, which means no real social scene to speak of.

However, it is a small campus, with a small student body. They get a lot of individual time with professors. However, they dont really have the resources of UT I think. For instance, they fashion nose cones for model rockets to obtain a certain height, with individual help from the professor. At UT, you can participate in an actual space experiment, but in a large group.

Austin is by far better socially, and i would not have to travel to get there.

UT Austin all the way, the social life rocks, the people u meet will be great, and the professors are brilliant. I'm not sayin that IIT isn't good... just that UT's better :-D
Also, if u ever feel like doing a minor in something business oriented (which is a fad among engineering studs these days), UT Austin's McCombs school of business is ranked top 5 in the US, so that's an added advantage.
