uggg, what's with all these negative thoughts? Be more ambitious. lol

You should focus on math/science, but if you want to get into a top college, then you should just take as many AP classes as you can. Colleges want see AP classes.

And again, based on your academic profile, I somewhat doubt that you would 'not be able to handle it' or 'not do well.'

I don't really want to go to a top college. Maybe Cal Poly SLO or UCSD. For those schools is it okay if I don't do the AP?

Right now I'm taking two AP classes and I go to bed at 2:30 every night (and I have to wake up early for a zero period). If I take four, I probably won't get any sleep at all.

2:30!? That is so not healthy. Either your school's classes are insanely hard or you're a terrible procrastinator or you have something to do after school that's sucking up all your time--tennis? babysitting?

Anyway, if you're this stressed out right now, definitely don't take the AP classes. You'll probably get into the colleges you listed (except Caltech) anyway.

My school is one of the top in the area, so we do have challenging classes.

I'm pretty thorough and detail-oriented so I take a lot of time on my homework. I take small breaks, but I find that I'm working most of the time. It's mostly my English class that takes up a lot of my time.

And tennis also takes up time. During season, our matches last until 6:30 so I don't get home until 7:00. That's why I go to bed so late. Now that season is over I try to be in bed by 1:00.
