Help me please help me!!

Hello everybody in here

I have alot of questions that I need you to help me find the ways.
I'm Thai. I come from Thailand, but I have a green card. I live in The United State 1 and a half year. And I can tell you my English is so bad, really bad.

I'm in Ohio.
I'm a high school student and I'll graduate on May 2009 (this year).
I want to be a doctor, this is my wish.
And now I'm looking for the colleges those have the pre-medicine major.

I applied 8 collges. The first 4 colleges I applied were OHIO STATE U. OHIO U. MIAMI U. and U. OF CINCINNATI. These were colleges in Ohio. I don't want to go to another state, because the tuition is more expensive than in state.

Now I got the letters from OHIO STATE U. and MIAMI U. But they were bad letters.
OHIO STATE U. didn't accept me, and MIAMI U. was a wait list. And I'm still waiting OHIO U. nad U. OF CINCINNATI's letter.

Then I applied another 4 colleges, there were SHAWNEE STATE U. WRIGHT U. FRANKLIN U AND NORTHERN KENTUCKY U.
Some colleges don't have the pre-medicine majoy, and they were local colleges.
I'm still waiting for the 6 letters.

My ACT score is 17, and my GPA is 3.456

Please and please tell me what colleges in Ohio that have pre-medicine major. I live in Batavia. I can go to everywhere in ohio but not in the north, because it's so far.

And I need the colleges are cheap, in 7,000, 8,000 or 9,000 not greater than 10,000

Please help me

Thank you everybody, have a good time good day and good life

You can major in any subject that you want to. You do not have to take a pre-med major. In order to go to apply to medical school you only need to take what is called the “pre-med courses”. The list is a little bit different from one college or university to another, but usually it includes General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Biology, Calculus, and Physics.

You should think about going to the public community college that is nearest to you that has a good ESL program. That way you can continue to improve your English while you start your university-level education. You can probably take all of the courses in the pre-med sequence at the community college too. Your advisors there can help you plan your studies so that you will be admitted directly into one of the public universities in Ohio.

Here is a list of the community colleges in Ohio. Ask the counselors at your high school to help you find one that will be a good match for you.

I agree with the above poster. My physician friends did not do “pre-med” but simply fulfilled the requirements (math, sciences, etc) and the testing before they applied.

One majored in social science and was a social worker for awhile before applying, several majored in various sciences, and I think one in psych.
