Okay, so I know that Northwestern doesn't superscore the ACT... But i have taken it twice, and got a 29 and a 31. I want to only send the 31 composite but my math score on that one is a 25 :( while my math score on the first one was a 27, and I think they probably weigh math higher than the other sections. What should i do? Is it worth the extra money? I'm applying to Medill, will a low math score really make a difference? Do they even look at your English/Writing score? Help!!! Thanks in advance!

If the math is weighed more heavily than other sections (and I just don’t know), that’s new to me.
I would send just the higher composite score, but I doubt it would hurt you to send both.
My bigger concern is that neither score is strong by NU standards. The 31 puts you in the competition, but NU’s median test scores have been on the rise the past few years, so you will be up against some very tough competition.
Good luck!

You’re applying to Medill. I doubt they won’t be forgiving on your math. Send SAT 2s if you have them and make the rest of your app strong. You’ll be fine. I’d send only the 31, but that’s just me.

Thanks so much for the feedback, I appreciate it. I know my scores are kinda low and that it’s a big reach, but I’m hoping my essays, SATIIs, and AP scores help me a little bit. And I’ve also heard that Medill is a little less harsh on the scores, but puts more weight on the essay. The whole ACT policy with some schools is just really confusing.
