Help Me Please!! I'm New to US and I'm a senior in HS. I have a unique and long story please help!!

I was living in Turkey but I was born in CA so I am an US Citizen and thats why Im considered as a domestic student. I went to school in Turkey for my freshman, sophomore and junior year. As you guys know, European education system is lot harder than in US and the grading system is different. When I started my senior year here, my dean converted all of my grades and My Gpa according to the US system is 2.55 Weighted / 2.55 Unweighted. I’m doing so hard trying to graduate and came across a big pathway. Also I somehow got a 1010; 480 RW 530 M on my SAT exam even though I was doing bunch of extra stuff that I needed to do. I know if i was here since freshman year I would be very very successfull but that doesnt help. I want to start in a 4 year university because housing is a big problem for me and I need to stay in a Dorm. I wrote killer essays and submitted to the colleges that want essay and explained my situation. Would they consider it? What are my chances getting into 4 year universities? Do you guys know which universities will accept me? Do you guys have any advices of any 4 year universities? Also Im currently in Florida But I can consider every university in the US. Here are the list of universities that i applied;

University of Arizona-Applied waiting for response
Arizona State University- Applied waiting for response
University of Nevada Reno- Applied and Rejected
University of Nevada Las Vegas- Applied waiting for response.
University of La Verne- Applied waiting for response
Mississippi State University- Applied waiting for response.

I thank to anyone who replies and helps me.

Since your GPA and test scores are very low, I suggest you apply to 4-year schools with very high acceptance rates and if you want, you can transfer to a different school a year or so later. Community College seems like a better option, and they do have dorms, but if you really want to start out in a 4-year school, it’s not completely impossible.

However, the important question here is, what can you pay? You shouldn’t expect any merit aid and since you applied to a lot of public schools for which you are considered an Out Of State applicant, you won’t be getting much financial aid either. Can you pay 50k+ annually for an out of state or private school?

Were your grades low by Turkish standards, or was there a mistake in how your Turkish transcript was evaluated?

It may make sense for you to work with a transcript evaluator that works with international applicants to explain their foreign transcripts. Although you are an American applicant, you have an international education.

Similarly, if English is not the primary language spoken in your high school or at home, a TOEFL score might put your SAT score in terms of your English skills.

If any of this sounds like it applies, talk to some colleges’ international admissions counselors and see if they can suggest how to improve your application, possibly for the next round of admissions decisions because it is getting very late in the game.
