Help me Please @@ In need of an advice.

Hey all, I am an upcoming freshman at UC San Diego considering to transfer next fall. I would appreciate it if you can assist me by answering some of my questions regarding the whole transfer process.

Do you think I should retake my standardized test? All the tests I’ve taken are from my sophomore years. I scored a 31 on the ACT , a 1950 on the SAT, and 800 /780 on my SAT IIs on Japanese and Math IIC respectively. Also, I retook the ACT this June and scored a 32- 32English, 35Math, 33English, 26 science, and 8 Essay- but I am rather reluctant to send that score because I didn’t do as well as I could have.(Long story short, I was extremely sick and missed a portion of my science section and my essay time to use the restroom.) What do you recommend I should do? If I retake the test, I can most likely score above a 33. But is it really worth all the trouble to raise my score by a point or two? And also, if I were to not retake the test, which of the two ACT score should I use?

Is my 18 units course load competitive for transferring? Here is my planned schedule:

  1. Math20C: Calculus&AnalytGeom/Sci&Engnr (Major- 4units)
  2. Econ1: Principle of Microeconomics (Major- 4units)
  3. MMW1: Prehistory&Birth/Civilization (GE- 6 sequence writing course- 4units)
  4. PHIL31 History of Philosophy: Ancient Philosophy (GE- 4 units)

  6. Philosophy Seminar- Paradox (1 unit)
I’m also most likely be taking a similar course load for Winter/Spring quarters as well. Any incites will be appreciated.

Also, does your declared major(s) affect your admission? I’m currently planning to double major in Mathematics and Economics, but I’m considering changing it to Applied Math and Philosophy.
