HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!(not a chance thread)

If we received the likely letter does it pretty much mean your accepted? Is there any chance that they may later reject you in April?

This letter has caused me so much stress. I wasn't expecting to get into Stanford, so I quickly rushed my application to Pomona college for ED2 for fear that I wouldn't get in to a top school at all. Now that I've received the letter and that stanford is pretty much giving me a full-ride, I'm going to have to break that ED2 contract with Pomona. However, I don't want to break the contract and then later find out that I wasn't "officially" accepted into Stanford. On top of that, I fear that my breaking the contract may upset the admissions officers enough to investigate the schools that I applied to (including Stanford) and then tell them that I backed out of a contract. Do you think that may also affect my "official" decision at Stanford?

Any advice

If you haven't been accepted to Pomona yet, you better call and change that to RD ASAP. Breaking ED contract is a BAD idea. And Stanford could rescind their admission offer if they find out that you did that.

^^ agreed. But you're very likely to get in to Stanford (hence a 'likely' letter).

Unless your grades drop a lot, you're going to get into Stanford. They wouldn't have sent the letter otherwise, so call up Pomona and change it to RD. Unless you commit a crime, are involved in a big cheating scandal, or get a whole bunch of C's and D's (or fail), they'll accept you. They don't send letters just to disappoint people in the regular round.
