well i'm from NJ and i have a 3.13 GPA (i know, its horrible) and a 1970 SAT and also a 28 ACT....people are all telling me to apply to rutgers but i really don't want to go there...i'm also somewhat scared i won't even get in.

I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO! (possibly for biology, biochem, or environmental science/environmental engineering)

Why don’t you want to go to Rutgers? It’s a good university.

NJ has a lot of other state universities besides Rutgers. Montclair State is a good NJ university where you would be an average to above-average applicant. It has biology, biochem and environmental studies. New Jersey Institute of Technology has all the majors you mentioned - including environmental engineering - and you would be a competitive applicant there, too. Rowan University is another good public NJ university; it’s medium-sized, a residential campus and you can probably get in there. It has a biology major and a biochem major, too.

I think first you should go to the “College Search” forum, rather than “College Admissions.” I’ll bet you a nickel the moderators will either lock or move this thread before long.

Beyond that, your question is too open-ended for anyone to answer it well.

Some questions you need to answer, that only you (and your family) can answer:

How much can you and your family afford to pay?
What part of the country would you like to be in?
Large or small?
Urban, suburban or rural?
Do you care about big-time college sports, or Greek life, or religious/ethnic/cultural organizations, or nerdiness?

well i moved this thread into college search…if you could continue helping me there i would really appreciate it
