Help me please with a simple thing .. about scholarships

Hello all, I will apply for the Fall 2006 entry

My scores are as below
SAT chemistry : 800
SAT math Level 11 : 780
SAT physics : 800
SAT 1 : 1540 (800 maths 740 verbal)

My school accumulative GPA for the last 6 semsters is : 98.4 %

I have many activities such as outstanding project in physcis, recycling project, volunteer, work experience.

What is my eligibility as an international student when applying to any university for full tuition scholarship?

Can I gurantee it ? or ?? should do something else

apply and find out. we dont hold the crystal ball. btw scholarships arent just based on stats, but essays, community service, awards, and the like. its like college admissions but for money.

ok thanks but why that rude tone in ur response

nothing personal, zxz, but I sense a bit of seven's frustration.....i have seen so many posts to this site in various threads (and I only found it 2 months ago) by applicants (and NOT just internationals) whose post reads as nothing more than a request for the people here to do their work for them.....if you want to know your $$ eligibility for "any university", YOU need to go to the websites of the schools you're interested in and look it up yourself....for example, if you are thinking of Carnegie Mellon, a quick look at their finaid section tells you that they have NO $$ for internationals. If that knowledge affects your decision to apply there, then you just saved youself a bunch of time and aggravation...if not, then by all means go for it.

I've also seen students post their stats ad nauseum, asking if we think they can get in somewhere...and let's face it, unless we work in admissions (which I do not), we are all simply guessing....and posts from students wanting us to essentially rewrite their essays for them....sorry, kids, did that myself many years ago...and if I didn't write my own kids' college app essays, I'm not doing it for anyone else, either.

Some of the posts of this type make me seriously wonder if the student should even be considering leaving home at all at this point - seems painfully apparent that he/she has not had to make much effort on his own yet..and truly doesn't even know how to do basic things for himself. This forum seems very focused on the 'elite' schools...and really doesn't have the time of day for 'state u' anywhere, and the elites would seem to make even heavier demands on these students, once they get there....sadly, am envisioning lots of 'crashes and burns'...

...getting down off my soapbox now!!

Actually some schools do have set numbers and you do have amazing stats, congratulations, I don't know a lot about international students however so I would pick out your favorite schools and search their web sites or call. Good luck, you should fare well if you are not set on just one specific college

I greatly agree with beachy and seven nights. It's irritating when people post here and expect strangers to do basic research for them. Every college posts on their website info about their financial aid policies including whether internationals qualify for aid, whether there's merit aid and what qualifications are needed.

It's very easy to find out this basic info, and it's lazy to expect strangers to do this for you.

If you have questions that go beyond what's posted on college's web sites, fine to ask, but don't expect other people to research your aid possibilities when you aren't willing to bother.

Did I tell any to do this job to me?
I just wanted to know b4 applying wether i need any other thing coz i have read many admission articles that postulated (admission) is not based on full marks neither on activities and there are many other things?

Just wanted to do this thing , my essays , recommendations and activities are all ready

Just dont wanted to send my portfolio and pleasing them to add other documents later on.

Thanx to all anyways..
CYA

ummmm...yes, zxz, you did....see your paragraph that starts with "what is my....."?

It reads as "Tell me all I need to know to get into every school where I won't have to pay anything, so I don't have to lift a finger to do any research work myself."

sorry if that sounds harsh, but you asked the question.

Don't get upset. I've notice that when anyone states an emotion on CC, they get an emotional response. So in post #3, the "rude" was an emotion and it generated a strong response from others.

By reviewing other posts of Seven Nights, and for that matter, other prospective college students- you'll discover that they are extremely brief in their responses. Whereas the older people are more verbose-sometimes too verbose. Like this posting. Most of the time I just post to practice my writing skills, sometimes just because I think I can give some valuable information, sometimes to give an opposite position (as this post), often times to get information, and finally just to push some buttons.

You just need watch the flow before you get into the flow and pretty soon you'll discover which positions will get hot or cold responses.

BTW. This board doesn't have a text editor. A few typos and slang OK but Grammer does count.

arizonamom arizonamom thanx alot

People here doesnt understand ,you think i did not search or asked , but info about universities are unlimited, and the much you ask , the more you become acquainted, if i was lazy i wouldnt get those scores.

I even did not take those subjects in english at school, they were in another language and never learnt english at school .. I learnt every word by myself ..

my aim of the question was ( if i have those scores, would it be enough or shall I do something else) you have the info and the whole country in USA talk and share ideas about unis while I know nothing about it over here .. so dont think my Q is ineptitude .. maybe to you.

I as well know that truth is like a surgery, it hurts but it cures.

but just take into account all , i want relying on anyone..

SOOO UNHELPFUL ..

and thanxs to all of those who helped.

If you want to know your eligibility for scholarships, you need to start by looking at the web pages of some colleges. Every college provides on their web pages information about scholarships and who qualifies for them.

Presumably you have in mind some colleges that you are considering applying to. The wisest thing to do would be to check out their web pages and find out if you would qualify for aid.

If you need additional assistance, then post with specific questions. For instance, you could ask how hard specific scholarships are to get at specific schools or you could use the search feature of CC to find info on students who have applied for and have received such scholarships.

You also could post on the international student part of CC and ask students where they have found particularly excellent financial aid for international students.

You have access to the same web pages that we do. Most people in the US find out about scholarships by checking out colleges' web pages and by scrutinizing boards like this, not by expecting others to give them a list of scholarships that they qualify for.I know tons of info about scholarships that my son could qualify for. This is far more than his classmates know and more than his GC knows. I know this info because I take the time to read college's web pages.

Heh, no reason to get o this kid's case for the general tone of some of the other posts. People like to speculate and interact about these topics during a stressful time of change. I can't imagine anyone would take this advice here as the final say. Obviously the best thing to do is go on the web site of the college you are interested in and search under "merit scholarship"-- they often describe which ones are availvble to internationals. Our S got half tuition scholarship at BU, he is a US citizen, but given the international population there you may want to see which ones are offered to non-citizens. Some schools need more international diversity then others so that may factor in.

Quite a flustered flurry! I didn't think the original response was rude--just simple and straightforward.
