<p>I think you should be able to, at least for economics. I'm pretty sure there are pre-med students that have been accepted into med school that have majored in economics. Granted, the requirements for pre-med is probably different that the requirements for pre-pharmacy or dentistry students, but I would imagine that they are at least similar. I think the down side about majoring in economics or engineering is that it might be harder to obtain a high GPA (med school, and most likely pharmacy and dentistry schools, are very numbers driven. You need the high grades to get your foot in the door.)</p>
