Help me please

Hello all,

I got accepted as a Mechanical Engineering major by Cornell and U of Michigan as a junior transfer. Can you guys give me some advices please??

Well first of all, do you mind posting your stats? I plan on applying to both of those schools next year.

To answer your question, how are the financial aid packages looking? They’re both amazing schools as far as engineering goes. I think the only way to choose would be to visit both (if you can afford it) and see which one “feels” better. Take that and factor in the aid they’re offering you. Then you shall have your decision.

cornell, imo.

BUT michigan might be cheaper for you, so i can’t really say.

Bread, also post your thread on the Search & Selection and Engineering Major forums as your question goes beyond just the transfer aspect. Best of luck, either place is great!

I am an international student in De Anza College.

Stats:
GPA:4.0
SAT II : Math II : 800, Chem : 760
ACT : 29

Regarding the application, I think one of my essay is great but the other one is just ok. I didn’t choose an alternative major in my app.

Thanks for your reply. For the financial package, I don’t think I can get much since I am an international student. Do you think Cornell will have more opportunities for me?

I would imagine that Cornell would have more opportunities simply because it’s an ivy. That is pure speculation on my part though so take it with a grain of salt. On another note, Michigan does have the largest number of alumni in the world.

You really can’t go wrong with either one. It’s just a matter of making the decision. That’s the hard part.

Thank you so much for your response. I will consider about that.
