Help me put together my college list

<p>I need some help finalizing my college list. I know I want to go into
business or architecture.</p>

<p>The thing is, I dont know where to apply. At first I was thinking
to go the straight business school route:</p>

<p>Umich (instate)
NYU
MIT
UCB
UPenn</p>

<p>But I'm having doubts now. I live close to Umich and I know it has a great campus and a great business program. The thing is, I dont want to go to college so close to home, I want a "new" experiance if you get me thier.</p>

<p>The thing is, Umich is 2nd in the nation in business. (management).
The next step up is Upenn, and I dont know if I can get in.</p>

<p>My gpa is not so great, around 3.7-3.8 unweighted</p>

<p>Now im not sure if I should apply to only business schools or try to broaden my range and add some other colleges to the list. </p>

<p>^They are all highly selective and Im not sure if its worth applying with my stats</p>

<p>Im also planning to choose one college and go ED or EA. I'm deciding between
umich (to seal the deal) or take a chance and go Upenn</p>

<p>Karma, I understand that you wish to leave home and experience a different part of the country. All the chools on your list are excellent.</p>

<p>I agree with Alexandre. Since UMich is rolling admissions, get your app in early to them. I think that could be your safety school, especially if they notify you early. Indiana is another safety choice. CMU's Tepper School is another one to add to your list. Then pick your favorite-Upenn if you will have no regrets going there, and apply ED there. You can also send out all of the other apps or just have them ready to go in case something goes wrong with the old game plan.</p>

<p>A guess. I took it once and got 2200ish cant remember exact, so im debating to retake or not</p>

<p>Thanks for the advice. Its just that my GC is horrible and I have no other sources for college information besides CC and princeton review, thanks for being patient with me, expecially alexandre.</p>

<p>What percent chance would you guess I have at upenn if i apply ED?</p>

<p>Karma, there is a big difference between say 2210 and 2280. If you got a 2280, I would say you are in decent shape. If you got a 2210, you may want to retake it if you want a serious shot at Wharton and MIT. For the rest of the schools, a score over 2200 will be sufficient, provided everything else is good.</p>
