Help me select which Univ to attend!

Hello,

Well I'm in a dilemma right now.

on one hand is Jacobs University Bremen ( Electrical and Computer Engineering) with an EFC of 850 Euros per semester and a loan of 4800Euros per year for 3 years at 7.75% Interest rate.

And on the other is a Full Ride to East Tennessee State University (Computer Science) { Full tuition, Room and Board, and $150 per sem as book allowance.

I am having a tough time deciding.. I would like to hold a decent job after I graduate (I am aware of work limitations of International Students) or go on to do my PhD at the best Univs.

It would be great if you can comment on the reason for choosing the particular university.

Other College where I've applied : Lafayette College

You may want to post this on one the college’s page (see if they have Tennessee on CC?). To be quite honest, I’m not familiar with either and cannot recall the euro value right now to make any kind of comment. Good luck! Hope someone can help you out here.

Thanks a lot. I can understand.

$150 won’t go very far for your books. To get an idea about what your books might cost, look up the textbook requirements for the courses that you would be taking at each university’s website, and then check the prices with Amazon.

Google for a loan repayment calculator to find out what those student loans could end up costing you at Jacobs U.

The Computer Science programs at East Tennessee State are accredited by ABET which indicates that they meet certain standards. You can read more about that at [Accredited Programs Search](http://www.abet.org/AccredProgramSearch/AccreditationSearch.aspx#)

Most of what you get out of your education is up to you. If you choose to attend ETSU, there is no reason to believe that your future will be limited by the name on your diploma. You can get into a good graduate school from there if you do well in your classes, and you take advantage of all that the university has to offer you.

But, being realistic, you should ask people in the country/countries where you would like to work after graduation whether or not one of these institutions is more likely to help you get a job. If you find out that ETSU won’t get you a job, and that JUB is too expensive, you need to look around for an affordable option.

^^ Thank you so much Ma’am. I’ll look into the things that you have mentioned.
