Help me... sigh

Okay, it has been my dream to go to college in NYC since forever. I just got my financial package and it is not even close to enough to make it possible for me. Luckily, I got into the honors program at UF, so here's the favor I want to ask:

PLEASE post things to make me feel more excited about going to UF and less bummed about not going to NYC. I know A LOT of people love UF... it's just not what I had in mind. Thanks for your help.

Jeiku: I assume from your missive that you are of the female persuasion. Don’t sigh!

Gator Nation is superior to schools north of the border for among the following reasons:

Climate, academic opportunities, economics, school spirit, networking, closeness to home and the dynamic classmates you will encounter. This my nutshell answer to your inquiry.

hahahahaha. I am actually NOOOT “of the female persuasion” but thanks for the help anyway, dude!

wearing flip flops to class… priceless.

since when did nyc become “north of the border”?

Sorry dude. All that sighing and dreaming through me off. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Know that I know which side of the fence you are on. Final reason: Best coeds in the Country.

haha. Amen dude. Plus I’ll be in the Honors dorms and those are coed which rocks! Even if the girls are a bit nerdier ;)

I have been to NYC a number of times and to be honest I would not want to attend college there. NYU or Columbia are great for graduate school, but for now be happy with attending UF’s Honors Program. If you want the urban experience then take summer classes in NYC when you get a chance.

In terms of UF you will have over 800 student organizations to choose from, you will get to have honors housing, and you will be able to attend great sporting events. The Greek Life is amazing, the academics are strong, they have a top ranked career center, and the weather is nice.

UF also has a strong alumni base: [List of University of Florida people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](List of University of Florida alumni - Wikipedia)
