help me, study abroad at hong kong or milan?

i'm trying to decide between hku in hong kong and bocconi university in milan. i'm absolutely stuck between the two, so any feedback would be fantastic!

I’m working on getting accepted at John Cabot University in Rome… so obviously, I would choose Italy… but Northern Italy is very different from Southern Italy. Milan is a very cosmopolitan city. Not really full of rich Italian culture, IMO. I wouldn’t want to go to school in Milan – but it’s still Italy. I speak English and Italian and have no interest in learning another language (besides Hindi, lol) … so my choice would probably be Milan, of course. But it all comes down to what you want to learn and experience. Hong Kong would be nice, too, but like I said… I don’t want to learn another language. I’m getting kinda’ old, haha.

You don’t have to learn Cantonese or Mandarin to live in Hong Kong. Pretty much everyone knows English (it is also their official language). I studied abroad in Hong Kong at the Chinese Univ of Hong Kong. It was an amazing experience. Great academics, amazing night life, culture, and affordable travels to SE Asia.

Hey,

Can you tell me more about what it was like to Study Chinese? I thought of doing it – I’m still thinking of doing it, but choosing a location seems a bit daunting.

What was the program like at the University of Hong Kong? Like, hours per day, number of weeks (or months!) needed on average to go from one level to the next level…

And how many levels were there?

What’s the hardest thing about learning Chinese?

What about costs? Tution? Housing?

Could go on an on with questions, but will leave it at that for the moment.

Thanks!

Hong Kong. Greater global impact.

Both sound great! Do a bit more research about the them. Also, think about which may fit into your career goals more so than the other.

Flipping a coin is a good way to decide between two things also. Not just blindly going with whatever the coin flip says. However, say Hong Kong is heads and Italy is tails and you feel disappointed then you should probably go to Hong Kong.

I’m sure you will have a great time no matter which one you choose. Have fun!
