I'm in dire need of confidence. I think, no I know, I'm going to get DQ'ed for ritalin. What have been all of your experiences with waivers? Did you get the waiver? Did you not get it? What was your result? I'd appreciate as many stories as possible. Thanks, everyone.

I got a waiver. I have a foot problem, which you think would be a huge deal for USMA because of all the focus on marching. I really thought I was done for, I was soooo worried! Well, my foot hasn't caused me pain in two years so I sent a letter from a doctor saying I can do high impact jumping, marching, and a ton of other stuff since I play varsity soccer and run track, my foot has to be okay. I got a letter from USMA Oct. 15th along w/ an LOA saying that they would send in a request for a waiver. On Nov. 4 I checked the website and I was medically clear. Good luck with it, just remember you will have to fight for what you want to get. Keep pushing until you have absolutely no chance.

Elpadrino-- if you want usma that bad you will get it. i dont have any experience with waivers. if you dont make it because of that this year you can still reapply each year. best of luck to you!

I received my offer of admission yesterday. I was having trouble with DODMERB a few months ago too.

They disqualified me for an allergic reaction to ant bites, which is as serious as a foot problem on the field. But last month West Point gave me a waiver and everything worked out.

Like what the other guy said, maintain determination and correspond properly to all that they want.

wpcadet: CONGRATULATIONS!!!

wpcadet,

Congratulations!!! Will you be accepting the appointment?

Thank you.

Without a doubt, of course I will be accepting the appointment. I sent out the grey card this morning.

dont give up hope. if you get medically dq'ed. don't just stand there, start calling people at dodmerb and start looking for a loophole. people have gotten dodmerb clearned with way worse sutff.
