So I'm looking for some matches. I can pay the full cost of a private school (like 60k a year) but it would be nice if I didn't have to. I am going to major in engineering and I'm from NJ but I could go to a school in California if need be. You guys do not need to tell me safeties because mine is Rutgers. Any suggestions? My stats are below

You don’t need to know your reaches, either: you should feel free aiming high (ie. MIT, Cal Tech, Harvey Mudd, et al). I’d say that Vanderbilt, Carnegie-Mellon, Washington U. (St. Louis), and Rice are probably high matches. If you’re interested in CA, your stats are good enough for any UCs. Tulane is probably a low match, close to a safe for you.

thanks for the input

Michigan would be a match,as would boston college

UAlabama’s Honors college, with full tuition, honors dorms, and very nice perks, is a given due to your stats.
Most UC’s would be matches, but since their selection can be idiosyncratic, you may want to apply to a couple (for example: UCB, UCSD, UCSC - and you’re sure to get into at least one.) Your lack of leadership and awards will hurt you even if the UBS internship is nice… unless procured by a parent which still makes it valuable but not as impressive. National awards are expected for Top 20 universities/LACs so those would all be reaches.
Are you interested mostly in research universities or in smaller schools?
Penn State (trying for Shreyer) could be a possibility, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, UIUC, Cal Poly SLO for universities. Perhaps USC or Olin but they may be closer to low reaches for you due o their selectivity (you have the stats but schools that selective can’t be considered matches).

Note: you don’t need to take Statistics if you’re taking Calc AB, unless you’re fascinatedby the subject. However I don’t see your foreign language (to be competitive you need to have reached Level 4 or AP) and for UCs you need one class in art/music etc.

Ive taken 3 years of Spanish in high school and the UBS internship was not obtained through parent connections. Why do you think I do not need to take AP Stats?

Typically, you wouldn’t need to “double up” in math unless you really love math or plan to major in a STEM field. Statistics is a compelling field in its own right but often it’s taken as an AP instead of calculus. Nothing wrong with taking both if you have a reason (passion, practical thinking…) but if you’re able to take a 4th year of Spanish it’d probably be more useful to your application. No college requires 4 years but if they require 3, it means 4 are expected and many applicants will have either 4 or AP. Check that you meet the a-g requirements for UCs (including art/music) or you won’t be able to be considered for admission.

Alright thanks for the insight and I meet all of the a-g requirements.
