Help me with my 2011 list!

OK, so right now I have a preliminary list of schools I am thinking of applying to, can you guys help me narrow it down?

I want to apply to schools that have a good classics program, good science program (more sciencey/mathy vs humanities). Must be located in new england or new jersey (is new jersey in new england?) The school must also offer crew or sailing in the spring.

Oh yeah, and the school must have good financial aid. I need pretty much full aid. ***** NOT INTERNATIONAL *****

Here's my list so far. I need help eliminating some schools. I think I want a max of like 10 schools, 17 is way too much (10 is too. but it is doable). Thanks

Exeter

Choate

Middlesex

SPS

Kent

Peddie

Deerfield

Hotchkiss

Lawrenceville

Taft

Milton

Concord Academy

Loomis Chaffee

NMH

St. Marks

Portsmouth Abbey

Berkshire

I don’t think Portsmouth Abbey offer FA for intl students, I am not sure so check again, here is my list for now : Andover, Deerfield, Exeter, Choate, Lawrencville,Kent, Taft and a few others

why does everyone think I am international, haha.

lol swissbrit—2010hopefule wrote *NOT INTERNATIONAL**

I didn’t put it in caps, but I think I will edit it now.

Oh and I didn’t have the international part in the first post when swiss posted. It was added after.

i would take away berskire, st.marks, deerfield, lwrenceville, and milton;)

reasons???

I say you choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14

if you are going to apply to 10 schools it should be broken up like this
3 or 4 reaches
3 matches
3 safeties

you can allocate the tenth school where you see fit

1, 7, 8, 2, 4
You should add GROTON!

I don’t want to apply to like all hades again. I tried that and it didn’t work out (obviosuly)

I applied to:

Exeter - rejected
andover - rejected
sps - rejected
middlesex - rejected
choate - waitlisted

Can you guys recommend schools to NOT apply to. I find it easier to eliminate rather than just pick the best ones.

Which of these are more humanities focused rather than science and math.

i agree with hcos.

MX,SPS,Kent,Peddie,Taft,Milton,Loomis,NMH,SMS.BERKSHIRE

Lol i still think you’d be good at Berkshire :P

Kent and MX sound like great schools for you!

kent i think has a good crew program, dont know about others

I am doing crew next year… Ohh sorry about thinking you were intl hopeful… Hey you guys what are good safeties thar offer FA to intl students ?

I really like MX and I thought I would get in, but unfortunately it didn’t work out.

I e-mailed the admission office and they said 120 people applied for 10 male boarding slots in the tenth grade.

Do you know if schools favor candidates who go through the process twice? (even though I was rejected)

I don’t know, I heard that they wipe your slate clean… But I have remarked that most kids who apply twice on CC get accepted into more than one school and they are not safeties…Metalika applied last year and got rejected(I don’t know which schools) he (or she) then reapplied and got accepted to exeter and deerfield, waitlisted at Andover and rejected at choate and I have seen quite a few cases like this.

just to let you know most isl schools cant give a full scholarship. im pretty sure all cannot give full, only a majority of the tuition

yup… for exeter and choate my family has to pay around 4-5 thousand
