Help me with my schedule?

Alright.. so at my high school we are on a block schedule and take our classes in one semester. Currently my second semester is supposed to be this:

algebra 2 pre-AP
Band
Spanish 3 pre-AP
AP World History

Our Spanish 3 is absolutely insane. It is harder than our 4 and 5 (AP) to the point where it's almost unfair. The whole class is virtually grammar, and barely anyone gets an A. I really don't want to damage my GPA. So considering I don't really need that much foreign language to be an engineer, I'm thinking about dropping Spanish 3 for AP Human Geography or AP Psychology (if I can get into it). It's probably going to end up being AP Human, so will I have a tough time?

I’d take Spanish. It’s a good thing that Spanish III is harder than 4 and 5 because that way you’re coming into the class super ready for it. Four years of a foreign language looks pretty darn well on your transcript.

I think you should continue with Spanish, although I know how you feel. I dragged myself through 5 years of hell in German. But as I reflect it was worth it. Continuity looks really good on transcripts. So my advice is to just pull yourself through this year and maybe the your next year (or two?) in Spanish will flow easily. A wide ranging language proficiency is important regardless of your intended occupation. Good Luck!
