Help me with the school selection

Hi,
I am from Vietnam and I'm a senior this fall. I've looked at some schools but I'm really confused if my choices well match my ability. So my profile looks like this:
SAT 2160 (CR: 720, M: 740, W: 700)
SAT II not taken yet (I'm planning to take Physics and Math2 but I'm not quite confident about the outcome)

GPA: 9.0/10 (VNese seniors advised us not to convert it)

Activities (not so much): Arts apprentice at an artist's studio. (I have portfolio), delegate at MUN, designer in three school events, translator at Blue Dragon Children's Foundation.

I want to study fine/studio arts and economics. And I need a large amount of finaid

I'm considering Carleton College, WashU(dream school), Bates, Vassar, Northeastern, Texas Austin, Williams, Vanderbilt, Clark U. On the whole I'm still confused about choosing schools.

Thanks anyone who replies

Have spoken with the counselors at the EducationUSA office that is closest to you? There are two in Viet Nam [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/Vietnam#.UB5b-u1vRmI) They should be able to advise you on this whole process.

Since you need a lot of aid, that needs to be your primary criteria for applying to colleges and universities. Run the college-matching search engines and get a list of places that do offer aid to international students. Then check each website to see if that college/university really does offer the kind of aid that you need. Don’t let yourself have any dream schools. You have to be very practical about this. For more ideas about finding aid, spend some time in the International Students Forum here at CC. There are many threads on that topic in that forum.

Wishing you all the best.

Thank for your reply. A lot of my school seniors attend those schools above, and they said the finaid packages at Bowdoin, Vassar, Vandy, etc… were great. And those schools were also taken from the college match on collegeboard.

ohm i haven’t talked to an adviser yet.
