(no matter) how (carefully) the (students) handle the beakers, every year a few(gets broken). (no error)

There is no error in this sentence but what about (gets broken)---> breaks

Gets broken sounds really odd and strange. Please help!

Thanks

Yeah it should be “get broken”, break would sound better, but keeping the original form it should be “get” because it has to agree with beakers. subject-verb agreement.

What do you mean “no error in this sentence”? Is that the answer? Because it’s wrong.

I think maybe the book the question was in gave the answer of “no error” when it was clearly wrong.
