Help Me (:

Hey guys I'm sort of stressing out about applications and just choosing a college in general so I need some help. I'm not quite sure what my chances are for the colleges I'm interested in. My top two choices are Northeastern University and Colgate University. I realize these two are basically polar opposites but for some reason I just fell in love with both of them. I applied EA for Northeastern and I come from a really small town so the idea of living in Boston is exciting. However, I recently visited Colgate and it's breathtakingly beautiful and I got a great vibe from the campus. Here are my stats:

Rank: 3/72 (might be salutatorian by the end of December)

GPA: 4.0..lots of college classes from a nearby community college & I'm in a pretty rigorous medical program for half of the school day

SAT(downfall): 1960 M:630 CR:670 W:660 --I'm debating whether or not I should retake this next weekend (try to get in with the standby registration)

ECS: 10 seasons of varsity cheerleading, lots of band-related things, Vice President of Music Club, Secretary of Student Council, Secretary of Yearbook Club, help coach a cheerleading team (volunteer work)

Recs: should be pretty good

Essays: Common App essays are great, but I have no idea what to write about for the Colgate supplement

In addition to my chances, I'd also be curious to hear some opinions on both Northeastern and Colgate. I'm sorry that I just practically wrote a novel, but if anyone can give their opinions I'll be extremely appreciative! Thanks so much :)

…bump…anyone?

Reach for both…
Better chance at NE, but it’s going to be rough with that SAT at either school.

Thanks for the reply! I know my SAT sucks I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to get it up

Anyone else?

… … …

you have a great chance at northeastern :)

I don’t really see what Soze is saying…I’m fairly certain that you are a shoe-in for NE. I can’t really speak for Colgate, but I got into NE with the same SAT’s and much lower grades.

But I suppose you would have heard already?
