<p>I agree. Call the college directly. And learn from this – don’t leave things so late. High school students can get used to “soft” deadlines (where you know you can plead exhaustion or a pet goldfish dying and the teacher will cut you a break) – but the rest of the world often has “hard” deadlines that are not flexible. Just assume “hard” deadlines from here on out. Good luck. I hope you are ok.</p>
<p>I would add to the above that the hard deadlines are likely to be getting “harder”. With money being tight, missing a deadline is one more way to whittle down the pool of needy students. It’s not about just following a rule for its own sake, there really isn’t enough to go around.</p>
