I'm a sophomore in high school--fairly new to the whole college search. I am very, very interested and dedicated to going to a great school (Top 30ish)...but I honestly am not sure where to begin! I get great grades..I've been to Nicaragua to build a house, this summer I'm studying at Cambridge University...but I'm looking at all these 'chance' threads and everyone seems to have these daunting achievements that's making me think I have absolutely no chance!!
I am a very ambitious and motivated student, and I will stop at nothing to get into a great college. But I'm really not a science/math person so it's not like I'm going to win some national award for either of those things. My areas of interest and talent are drama (acting/theater), journalism (I'm already on the road to being Editor-In-Chief for our school paper) and English. What can I do with these to really up my chances for a great school? I've studied at some well-known places in NYC...Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, etc. But I feel like I need to do something really stand-outish to have a better shot!

Hey! im no expert but from what i just read i dont think u would have any problem getting into a great theatre program…you’ve already studied at some great places so that would give u a leg up and the you did charity work in Nicaragua is soo cool and would look great on yout resume…Also the fact that your a sophomore and your already on your way to being the Editor-In-Cheif of your school paper looks great for the Journalism and English majors u may apply too…Good Luck!
