Ok, my computer's harddrive went bye bye so now I have a little problem. All my music is on my ipod, and I have several hundered songs that were not backed up on CD. If I want to update my ipod, I lose all of my music. My simple request is, can someone tell me how to get my music from my ipod back onto my computer?

Hook the iPod up to your computer without iTunes up and go to My Computer on the start menu...um...then click on the iPod drive and go to Tools and then Folder Options and then View and click the option to Show Hidden Files.

A dim folder should come up and you'll be able to copy all of your music from your iPod to your computer by doing a Send to My Documents thing.

wow katho u just saved not one but two lives. thank you!

thanks. I was tempted to buy some software that gets your music off the ipod, but you just saved me $15.

that's amazing! so I can do that when I get my laptop? You're my hero.

No problem. I had to figure that out last summer when I got my new laptop, so yeah...just trying to save other folks from the trouble.

Also, if any of you live in a dorm and use the school's wired internet, MyTunes Redux is a great program for copying any shared user's music on to your computer. It's free...all you've got to do is Google it.

I love you.
