Help me !

I'm in a college dilemma.

I'm such a hard worker, I have a 4.32 GPA end of this semester, 4.0 unweighted. I'm #1 in my class of 441 kids, I'm captain of the Math team, have 100+ comm. service hours, and Class Coordinator of my class for 2 yrs including next one. My teachers and staff are telling me that I could even get into Ivy League.

The colleges I've been looking at are:
1. University of Pennsylvania
2. New York Univ.
3. Loyola Marymount University
4. University of Florida

Not in that order.
Is Loyola the least prestigious of those schools? They have a beautiful campus and excellent professors I hear.

Should I go big, aim for Yale? I don't think everything is about Ivy. I'm really looking at LMU and NYU.

I'm also:
Fully bilingual (English and Spanish)
Founder of tutoring program. I tutor at the middle school just next door.

Anyone?

LMU10

LMU does have a gorgeous campus, but I feel like you would not be very academically stimulated. It's really refreshing to hear you say that not everything is about Ivys! That being said, you could definitely do better than LMU.

You may be right.

Also, what about the fact that their Classroom Experience is #1 in the whole Country ranked by the Princeton Review.

I really do think I could do better, but there are many factors. The scene and life, area, would be nice. I hear it's very safe on campus at night, I don't know yet. I'll probably change my mind.

I'm really looking at NYU too

I applied there out of high school, so I know what you like about it. Have you visited? It's the epitome of LA... You have to remember that Princeton Review stuff can change in a second, and if you aren't at about the same level as your peers I guarantee classes will be very frustrating.

Of course it's totally up to you, good luck!

What University do you go to know?
Haven't visited yet.

You may be right. I might get frustrated. But who knows. I might go there, might not.

Isn't it very expensive to go to LMU also?

I go to UCSB, but I'm transferring to Georgetown. LMU is pretty expensive, but so are all private schools! they'll probably give you an academic scholarship with your stats

So you think UCSB is probably more prestigous than LMU?

yeah i think its a better school. of course its hard to compare a big university to a smaller college, but i didn't have a very hard time deciding. i have some friends that go to LMU though, and they really like it
