hehe i am in a panic mode here... Quicke question : do hs freshmen grades matter ?

they're sent on your transcript, so yeah. how much they matter - not so sure on that one.

I share your pain. I had C in Algebra 2 Freshman year because our teacher liked talking during the first ten minutes of test taking periods, apparently forgetting that we no longer get a full period to do the test. Had A- on both semester exams though.

Next year I stepped it up to make up. Sophomore took 2 credits of trig independent study. Double A's.

I recently talked to an admissions person at an interview at another selective college. As I showed I had great grades later they didn't care too much. Being that since my school stopped ranking last year, they really looked harder at my transcript.

I suggest in your situation always taking an interview wherever you apply. I did three interviews so far, and they don't mind as long as your Junior grades are shiny and pretty.

Freshman grades are not counted for or against you (for Princeton at least.)

They do not count in any way, shape, or form (except maybe if you got Ds/Fs...that might raise eyebrows.)
