So… I have until May 1st to decide on a college and i have no clue. I am IN LOVE with miami but i only got a 1/2 scholarship from them and i’m still waiting on finanical aid. i’ve pretty much ruled out maryland and unc-chap.hill, and i would be set on miami if it wern’t for univ. florida’s dang scholarships! am i crazy to want to pass up an almost full scholarsip to uf. (nmf schol.) to go to the beautiful miami where i would have eversomuch fun? Not only am i in love with the campus (and the mall and beach right around the corner) but the city of miami offers so many opportunities for jobs and such. I’m going to visit florida this weekend so hopefully i will like it since it’s similar to miami in stats. please help. UF OR MIAMI? debtfreedom or happiness?

you seem to be in love with miami, go where you are happy, that's the important part. I'm going to UM, I looooooove the place, I could have also gone free ride to any florida public schools, so what? I'll go where I'll be happy at! and just between you and me... UM is better than UF!

GO CANES!

Yeah, didn't think so. 1120 SAT? Whatever.

Don't go posting stupid threads infuriating people about affirmative action if you can't actually back them up. Especially when people can easily find your past posts (like me) and call you on it.

And to the original poster: I'd say UNC-Chapel Hill would be an amazing school. It's very respected, and practically impossible for an out-of-stater to be offered admission. So if you're a Floridian (which I think you are based on all the Florida schools you were accepted to--congrats) you might not want to pass the chance at UNC, since it is such an infrequently given chance.

Best wishes--- most important thing is that you go where you know you'll be comfortable and happy. If you'll most enjoy Miami, then by all means go!
