Help, Missed Deadline!!!

I just discovered this little gem in Connecticut -- Connecticut College, yesterday!
The deadline for the supplemental application is December 15, is it too late to apply??

call them.

You should ask THEM, not us. Deadlines aren't always hard and fast.

But if you mean you would have to send an application with essays, letters of recommendation, and test scores and haven't done any of it, it may well be too late.

In any case, ask THEM.

When you call, I'd suggest that you tell them exactly what you told us--that you just discovered their little gem.

thanks for all your responses!

I agree. Call. The large state schools tend to be most rigid, small private colleges the least.

An earnest call is a good suggestion. However, I'm sure the answer will be to send it in. The priority job of most admissions departments is soliciting admissions, not admitting students.

I'd get it in asap then call with your ernest phone call. I know someone who went to that school and highly reccomends it. Beautiful campus.

I called, they were so sweet (yes I know they'd like to squeeze all the money they can out of admissions). Still, the admissions officer (or secretary) was friendly and asked about my other college plans... Extra points for Connecticut College.

Good luck! (My cousin loved CC)

Make sure to check the website to find the section Conn College maintains on applications' essays. CC has a very distinct opinion on what constitutes a great essay. That opinion goes in an opposite direction from most of the selective schools. CC seems to prefer to read the florid, over-the-top, style-over-substance fluffy essays that beg for a picture of Fabio as a cover sheet.

I think that the examples of essays on CC's website set the tone for the English department, and to a certain extent the entire school.

Some might find this appealing ...

What kind of essay then would colleges find more appealing? Something simple and direct like Hemmingway?
