Help my AP US History teacher is an Idiot

As the title implies, he is completely incompetent and we are required to take the AP test, I want to do that anyway, but I feel like he doesn't know what he is teaching, he stands in the middle of the room, reads and then asks us questions about the paragraph he just read, it pointless, what can I do, I'm not opposed to self studying but i dont know what to use, because I really dont have a lot of extra time HELP! lol

Buy Amsco, and study from it, its amazing!!! You'll hopefully do well in the class and the AP exam.

thanks? is AMSCO a textbook? where do i get it? link maybe

i used this and it was really helpful for the exam =)

good luck

dude chill you have lots of time i mean this test isn't until May. relax. I had a AP US History teacher who didn't give us any work at all last year, he only lectured, and long as you turned in one required essay per quarter you got an A. Everyone in the class got an A, but most kids didn't study for the AP on their own and got 1s or 2s. The kids who did study on their own mostly ended up with atleast a 3 and mostly 4s and a few 5s.

I studied for like an hour every day for 2 weeks before the test and got a 4... it's a pretty easy test. Buy the REA AP US History prep book (it's what I used), study from it for a month before the exam and you should do well.

at least your teacher teaches. Mine just assigns reading hw and gives tests.

Don't be discouraged, Atilio... I had a teacher who was in constantly in La-La Land... and I managed to get a 4.

It will be fine. :)

My teacher required us to do outlines (read= copy the entire chapter minus a few words) and then proceeded to simply regurgitate (verbatim) the book.

I still got a 5.

Definitely get a good review book, my school provided us a REALLY good one (I read the whole thing the day before the exam). But, I don't know what the name was, something like 'AP US History Review Book' it wasn't put out by a specific group like Princeton Review or anything.

Take all the old released exams and read over previous free responses.

I got a 5 even with a lousy teacher. It is possible =).
