Help! My Calculator Won't Calculate!

Well, it does, but it's not doing what I want it to do. It's a TI-89 Titanium. First off, when I put in stuff like squareroot of 24 or 100/8, it only spews out 2 sr 6 and 25/2. I really need it to go back to decimal mode ASAP.

And something that might become a problem in the future: I think I dropped it one too many times, and sometimes a light tap will make the screen periodically disappear and then reappear a few seconds later. Is this a big deal?

You probably changed something in "MODE". Everything (at least, on the TI-83 Plus) should be highlighted on the far left side. If all else fails, try resetting. Assuming the 89 is like the 83, go to:

2nd + "+" (MEM) > 7 (Reset...) > ALL > 1

of course, this will delete all your games, any self-made programs, etc.

if you need ecimals, go to mode and scroll down till you see the words "Exact." You want to change that to "Approximate."

Thanks! I fixed it!
