I applied early app. Here are my stats. If anyone can tell me my chances it would be wonderful. I hate this waiting period of not knowing.

your SATs are good for Santa Clara. I decided to wait to apply to Santa Clara for RD bc i heard that the reason they accept such a high % EA is that the pool is very competative. That might be the only bad point i could point out. How was your essay? rec?

Is 1900 a high SAT for Santa Clara? What is the average? I'm thinking about applying but afraid my SAT might not be high enough. My gpa is about the same -- 3.45 to 3.5 uw. I'm a 3 sport varsity athlete (football, basketball, baseball but not being recruited by SCU) so I'm hoping that helps as these sports take up over 20 hours a week all year long. I've also been on student council for 2 years and write for the newspaper. I didn't apply EA for the same reason.

My daughter applied EA to Santa Clara two years ago. It was her top choice, but she also felt she had a better chance of being accepted EA as their %age of acceptances during EA was higher than during RD when she applied (she is a sophomore there). Her SATs were about 1920 or so...but they didn't use the SAT writing score at all when her class was admitted. I'm not sure they use it now. Her CR/Math was 1230 (650 math, 580 CR). She was top 5% of her class with an aggressive courseload...and good commitment to her EC (music). Good luck to you all....it's a great school and she really likes it.

I wish I knew that ea was not such a good idea. Thank you all for your input. It has been quite helpful. I think rec means recomendation? Lol, mine was strong but not from my alum, yet he was mentioned in the supplement because he is in my familia. Hes like some sort of presdiential something...

Santa Clara accepts about 80% EA, and 63% RD. Your SATs are about the top 45% for S.C. University, so that with good recommendations and a well written application, you are very likely to be admitted.

Thank you, Icy. I would like to think I had a well written app... As for the recommendation, I do not know. I did not see it (of course, that goes straight to the councilor).
