Help my friend: GMU or VCU for Engineering

My friend is debating between George Mason or Virginia Commonwealth for a major in computer science. My opinion is that GMU is a better school than VCU for CS, but he thinks otherwise and is leaning towards VCU. Anyone have rankings, other evidence, or anecdotal evidence proving which is a better engineering school?

Thanks

Hmm, well, VCU has a better developing Engineering School, while GMU is more of a liberal arts school, so I would lean towards VCU. Btw your friend is a super sexy indian kid right?

@RomaFan94, I heard that he got rejected by a 10 year old.

@Scatman45… screw you man.

But in all seriousness, can somebody please help clarify this situation? Thank you

Both have ABET accreditation in computer science and engineering (and some other engineering subjects). While ABET accreditation is not necessary in computer science and engineering (some top schools in the subject do not have ABET accreditation for it), it does provide assurance that a lesser known school’s degree program meets a minimum quality standard (lesser known schools in the subject without ABET accreditation often have very limited course offerings).

If the concern is about which will attract more recruiting employers to the career center, try looking at the career center web sites of the schools to get an idea of which employers come visiting. Most schools will attract local employers; schools that are better known among employers will attract more non-local employers.
