Help my poor soul. Higher tier colleges?

Oh Jesus Christ here I go...

I'm well aware that as an incoming Junior, I still have a year to think about colleges and whatnot, but I just received my first C today in Honors Precalculus (79.5%... The teacher wouldn't round... ) and I'm currently freaking out. Someone please calm me/make me feel even worse?

I've always wanted to go to UChicago or Brown, but I feel like I'm just a done deal now.

Ethnicity wise, I'm half Asian, half black. I don't know how much this will help or hurt me in the admissions process...

GPA Unweighted: 3.5 (As of last semester. This semester will be around 3.3)
GPA Weighted: 4.5 (As of last semester. This semester will be around 4.3)
**I'm planning to work my butt off to get straight A's (or 1 B each semester because our IB Spanish class is a killer) next year as a Junior. I go to a highly ranked public high school if that counts for anything. We're always #30 and up on Newsweek's 2000 Best schools (including this year, of course). Even college admissions know us as one of the most rigorous schools in the nation, so my low GPA is explainable. I'm in AP/IB and my GPA actually is not low compared to others in my school's AP/IB program. I don't know how that will play out, though

Currently finished 5 AP's as a sophomore. Will have 10 by end of Junior year (if that counts for EA/ED) and will have 14 by end of Senior year.
**AP scores aren't out yet

SAT 2270 (taking it as a Junior as well)
ACT 35
SAT II Biology 740
SAT II Math 780
**My June Chem SATII isn't out yet and I know I'll be taking at least 3 more by the end of Junior year.

EC's:
International Baccaleurate
Tech program at school
state council leadership team (the organization shall remain nameless for anonymity)
ROTC (nationally ranked, and I'm likely to end up on the top few leadership positions)
Congressional Awards for volunteering 300+ hours
president and founder of a non-profit organization
admitted to Stanford Summer College this summer (but cannot attend due to my visa status. This is not EPGY or CTY, I get college credit for courses)
president of 2 clubs at school
secretary for 1 club at school
NHS and CSF up until now (and most likely throughout my forthcoming years at school)
FBLA Section/State awards (there are 3)
Internship at a US Congressman's campaign office
Internship at Senator's office
One more internship Senior year summer, which is required by the school
Work at SAT Prep Academy
**I think there's more but I'm brain dead for now. School's out and I'm just done.

So there's my long list of stats.... Do you think I have a shot at UChicago or Brown? Thanks for bearing with me through this long post.

heyyy!!! Keep your chin up budddd! I’m in a similar situation but with lower tier schools… You can see my stats and school I’m applying to on my page to get a better idea but anywayss I have GOOD and BAD news!

GOOD first (:
My bestfriend wants to go to columbia and she had a couple Bs her sophomore year but she got straight As jr year and she got into contact with the admissions directors from that school when they came to the college fair at our school (DO THAT if your school has a college fair) and they like basically told her she’s getting in, so as long as you work hard your Jr year you should be a pretty good match for both colleges! A C in cacl isn’t the end of the world but will make it harder to get accepted /:
If you do well Jr year you will show and upward GPA which is good!!
and being in IB and a rigorous school is good and so is a lot of ECs

now for the bad news…
One girl from my school (ranked always in the top 15 or higher) got 1 C and that was why was rejected from University of Miami… But she did have few ECs and I don’t know about her SAT scores…

So for now I’d say your are a good match for both! Just work hard on getting amazing grades your Jr year and on ECs

Best of luck (:
