After my counselor sent the wrong recommendations to the wrong schools, I told one of my recommenders that I will only be using her rec for one school. She is old fashioned and hand mails the rec, and I’m afraid she already sent the recs to the schools that weren’t supposed to get it. This has just caused a huge mess in my recommenders and I’m so scared that it will reflect poorly on me. No college wants to sort out this huge mess thats become of the recs; my school had to cancel the already submitted recs, send new ones, and now another teacher is sending another one. This is so stressing me out and a lot of it is out of my hands.
It is not that big a deal. If your recs went to the wrong schools, email your teachers with a list of email addresses so they can email them to the correct schools.
I emailed all of them, but the problem is calling the college and telling them to disregard certain recs. Now it looks like I have 5 recs for schools that only take a max of 3.
Then you just email each school and let them know which recs to include in your application. That’s all you can do. It’s annoying, but not going to be a big deal from the schools’ point of view. This is not the first time this has happened and it won’t be the last.
