I took the SAT test in december and the score has been delayed. After series of calls and email was sent to me that "my sat score is going through exception scoring process" Been trying to call for explanation and no one is giving me any. Can anyone help me with what is going on?? I am so worried!!!

This is pretty far after the regular score release date, so I’m not sure. But here are a few possibilities:

(1) Your essay scores were more than 1 point apart, which means your essay has to be graded by a third “Master Grader.”

(2) You improved a lot from the first time you took it. I don’t actually know if they flag such increases for extra scrutiny or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do.

(3) Maybe you mis-entered something on the first “personal information” page. So, maybe your ID numbers don’t match or something.

(4) If lots of people from your testing site are having the same problem, then there was probably an irregularity (like the tests were returned stuck in the test booklets, or they were miscoded - both of which have apparently happened and caused delays).

Anyone know other reasons scores might be delayed?
