<p>Correction: in Scotland, udergraduate degrees are 4 years long, in England and Wales, they are 3 years.</p>
<p>Thank you all, this is really a big help. arwen15: I’ll definitely try Keystone out, thanks for the tip. I’m planning to take the majority of the APs available, however I’ll have to do some self studying for others. </p>
<p>I’m leaning more toward Scottish schools, because I have heard that they are closer to how U.S. colleges operate (and they are much more inexpensive). Alright so I’ve read so many different opinions on this that I really don’t know the answer; Are Scottish schools as strict on stating your major as other UK unis?</p>
<p>ukhopeful – Yes, Scottish universities require you to apply to a specific degree programme. Depending on your course, you can move around within the department, but that’s as close as you get to ‘changing major’. The Scottish four-year degree is much more like US degrees programmes, as the first year is more or less introductory. St. Andrews in particular likes American students.</p>
