<p>No, that's wrong... you can choose which ACT you send in... the colleges only have to see 1 ACT test... even if you've taken 10, you can only send in 1 and that's all they'll know you took... now, that is right about the SAT.. if you send in one SAt score, then all of them go (since colleges superscore this test).. but as far as the ACT goes, you only have to send in one ACT score</p>
<p>Oops I worded it in a confusing way. She meant that without sending score reports, ALL my standardized tests will show up next to my grades - all the acts, and sats. So even if I decide to send in just my act score report, the colleges will see my sat score when they look at my transcript.</p>

<p>i think you can threaten them with some legal sanctions. your SAT scores are your property, and high schools, unless you give them consent, have no right to put them on your transcript and disclose them to colleges. I think they'll back down if you threaten them with lawsuits or bug them long enough.</p>

<p>that is not right.. you only have to send in ONE ACT score.. if you opt to send in only one, then only one will show up... on your transcript right now, all of your standardized tests you've ever taken are on there, yes, but when you send you transcripts to your colleges you can opt to take off all the ACT scores you don't want to be seen on there and/or you can choose whether to have your SAT scores sent too (now, for SAT, yes, if you send in 1 score, all are sent... college board just requires that)</p>
<p>i just don't understand the thing about the ACT.. you only have to send in one... and if you don't want them to see your SAT scores, just choose not to send any at all (unless you took SAT II tests, then there's nothing you can do because if you send in one SAT [SAT I (the standard SAT you took) or SAT II subject tests], then all are automatically sent)</p>

<p>basically everytime I take an act or sat test, the score gets sent to my school. The school then puts it on my academic record, my transcript. So even if I only send in my ACTs and not the SATs, the colleges will see the SATs on my transcript, and all the other ACT tests I have taken but did not send in the score report for. i hope that makes better sense. =/</p>

<p>yeah, your school should get your scores and put them on your transcript for the time being... all my standardized tests i've ever taken are on my transcript (i have a copy of it, and they're all on there), but when i send in college applications and test scores and things like that (including my transcript), my college counsellor at my school said I can choose which ACT (or ACTs) I want to have sent in, and whether or not I want my SATs sent in or not</p>
<p>the scores are on my transcript too, but not all of them have to be sent in (unless for some reason I want them all sent in)... whoever is saying that colleges will see all these scores is wrong, at least according to my college counsellor, and she's pretty good (considering we send about 15-20 kids a year to top 25 school, including a few to the Ivy's, and our class sizes have about 100 people each... so she knows a ton about what is and what isn't on transcripts and whatnot)</p>

<p>^^ whoops, I didn't see this post... yes, you could do this.. you are the decider of what goes on your transcript in terms of standardized scores.</p>
<p>usually the all of your SAT scores are reported on the transcript. i've never heard of choosing which scores get to go on, which is why people want to cancel scores. i guess test reporting varies from school to school so i could be wrong.</p>
<p>For those with similar high schools, you do NOT have to provide a high school code when you register for the ACT....</p>
<p>orange: suggest your GC read the federal privacy law, FERPA, and review CB's website where they strongly suggest that HS not add scores to transcripts (of course, that's more money for them). Your state may have a privacy law as well; I know Calif does.</p>

<p>My school still has paper, typewritten transcripts. Our grades are on the front and all testing information is on the back. If our parents don't sign our transcript request form, then only the grades side of our transcript is copied and sent. Our school says this is for privacy concerns and we would need parents (if under 18 at time of request) to sign off before our "private" testing information is released. I think the privacy argument that others have brought up would therefore be most effective.</p>
<p>This happened to us and it was too late to bother fighting it. In Florida, most of the high schools have a computerized transcript that includes ALL SAT scores, ALL ACT scores, ALL AP scores, and even every FCAT score from 2nd grade on. The ONLY way to stop it is to NOT put your HS identification on the tests. And since AP tests are required, and you have to put down the school code, it only works for SAT and ACT scores. Someone needs to call them on this, using the privacy laws. But so far, if you want an official transcript, it goes with each and every score. And in fact, state U's have electronic access once you apply and by applying are giving permission for them to have access. More students need to know in the 9th grade to NOT put their school codes on the SAT or ACT applications or tests.</p>

<p>Actually, many WILL consider it.</p>
<p>You need to get your high school code off of your ACT registration. If you contact the ACT test makers they shud be able to guide you in the right direction if you ask them the right qestions. If they don't know your school's code, they won't appear on your transcripts.</p>
<p>I have the same problem. I think I found a box on the ACT registration form that said "send copy to high school?" I checked no. My ACT score didn't show up on my transcript I ordered to send to Brown's summer studies BUT my SAT and SAT II's are all there! I think the problem is that the college board doesn't have this option. I want to talk to my college counselor about this because my ACT score was better than my SAT's and I dont want those sent. I can't imagine that admissions won't take these into consideration if they try not to.</p>

(on the counselor's part)</p>
