Ok, so...my teacher (who doesnt go to my school anymore)- has not sent my rec letter yet!..she already has one for me bc she used it for my early app school...but stanford says EVERYTHING has to be postmarked on friday, and she still hasnt responded to an email of mine from Dec 8...

I'm so nervous that she won't send it in time....please someone tell me I'm not totally screwed and my application isn't a complete waste...

and for anyone that might be thinking it, i dont have her phone number/know where she lives etc... ):

wow..I think you should be worried..but if she is still a teacher, she should check her email? I don't know, maybe you should ask around, asking if other teachers know her phone number...Just try to get in touch with her.
But, again, my teachers haven't sent in their rec letter yet either, I don't think they will do it until Friday..lol

One of my teachers and my counselor probably won't send it to Friday, and my counselor might send it after. :( Hopefully Stanford won't be too mad...

My brother used to work in Dartmouth admissions as a student opening envelopes, and he said that they don't even look at the date. They just open your stuff and file it. I'm not saying that it's definitely not a problem that it's not in, but hopefully everything should be okay. You don't have anything to lose by sending it as soon as you can now.

I just realized that my teacher didn't send my rec before Friday. I went in to check up on my other recs today and she said she hadn't sent any yet, including the Stanford one. She also told me that she'd have them done tomorrow. I plan on mailing it so it gets to Stanford the fastest way possible, but it still won't have the postmark date. This is also supposed to be my really good recommendation. Basically I wasn't able to reach my teacher Wednesday-Friday and Monday due to illness I believe (she was sick today).

Am I screwed? I mean, I turned in everything else on time, and this should get to them before all my other stuff if I mail it overnight or something.

hey i had the same problem. my teacher had a personal thing to tend to so she was out monday to thrusday. i got scared and called stanford and they said they have a cushion period for teacher cuz they know thigns happen. so dont worry you should be fine if it is sent sometime this week.
