Help my whittle down this list :)

I've been researching these colleges so much that I've fallen in love with like every single one of these, but I don't think I should apply to more than 12.

Going to early entrance college highschool... basically all classes dual credit and live on campus
Senior yr: multivariable cal, linear alg, diff eq, mechanics, electricity and mag, etc.
I'm just going to give a few important stats: gpa uw 4.0, SAT 2140 720m/ 690cr/ 730w (I know their low :( )

main ec's: physics research approx 9 hr/wk, Habitat for Humanity campus chapter (Secretary, Advocacy Chair) actively involved....

Intended major: Electrical Engineering
female/TX

Reaches (I have so many..... because I think I have a really low chance at these... but some HAVE to go)
1. MIT (cant take this off.... my dream school)
2. Carnegie Mellon
3. Cornell
4. Brown
5. U penn
6. Northwestern
7. John Hopkins
8. UCB (oos)
9. UCLA (oos)

Match/Slight Reach (so few lol... or could some of those move down here?)
10. U of Mich AA (oos)
11. UCSD (oos)
12. Vanderbilt

Safety/ Match
13. UT (in state)
14. A&M (in state)
15. Case Western

So I ask of you to please help me eliminate 3 schools.

15 is very doable. I did it myself with absolutely no problems.

I would remove A&M, Cornell and one of the UCs but then again I just hate big ass schools.

A&M
Case
UCSD

Then, I would get rid of either UCB or UCLA.
That's just me.

But that would leave me with like one safety.... is that safe?

Cross off Case Western, UCSD, and either UT-Austin or A&M.

As an engineering female, you're in at MIT and Cornell.

Get rid of Brown, UPenn, Johns Hopkins, UCLA and Vanderbilt.

lol have you seen my sat score.......

You seriously don't need so many safeties. The chances of you being rejected at Austin are nil.

Cut: A&M, UCSD, and maybe Vanderbilt.

Done.

Rice??? (10 chars)

You could get other apps, but would probably find out about UT positively before you need to use them (as long as you liked UT better). How are you taking Calc III and Lin Alg & Diff Eq in hs, but only have a 720M?

Are you kidding?
That's why it is a safety.
UT is NOT going to reject you and is by far the best safety on your list.

Ok come on i missed 3 frickin questions and got a 720.... I dont even know what I missed so it was probably like something really stupid..... geeez that stupid score is going to follow me around everywhere lol.

Some people don't do well on tests, gellino. That doesn't mean much at all.

Heh I love when people I don't know come to my defense!

I would cut off:
Hopkins-horrible location, really pressurized school
Cornell-in the middle of nowhere, competitive, 16,000 kids
UCB- 24,000 kids, never heard good things about it from the kids that I know that go there

as well as A&M since you will get into Texas in state.

Also consider adding Princeton, Stanford (#1 in Electrical) and USC.

if you want to spend over 500 on college apps go for all 15. i wouldnt recommend that though. since youre applying as an engineering major, apply to schools good for engineering-- MIT (yeah its def a reach), Carnegie Mellon (match), Cornell (slight reach), Northwestern (reach), UCB (match), Vanderbilt (low match)... RPI is a great safety... consider that.

$500 for $200,000 the next 4 years...

Dump Case, UCSD, Hopkins. Add Purdue or Colorado if you need another safety.

If you are in the top 10%, you only need to apply to one state school for a safety.
