Help Narrow Down Transfer App List

Hi!

I am currently a first-year domestic student of color at Macalester College, and I am looking to transfer. I have a 3.8 GPA, received a 2230 on my SAT last year, and have all of my recommendations and information ready to send. However, as deadlines loom close, I am having some trouble narrowing down my transfer list. The three primary attributes that I seek include: A) strong and well-resourced American Studies and Educational Studies departments, B) a mid-sized or large undergraduate student body, C) a large population of domestic students of color.

Three schools that I have already identified include:
Columbia,
UChicago,
Boston University,

The rest of the list:
Brown
Cornell
Emory
Harvard
Northwestern
Tufts
Wesleyan
Yale

I assume you’re applying to transfer because you don’t like Macalester right? It wouldn’t hurt to have 1 or two easier schools to get into (~50% acceptance rates) just so you have that buffer.
