Hello, I searched through the forum, and I think I've gathered the answer I want, I just could really use some reassurance. I had one teacher Submit his recommendation letter on the 24th to Naviance (I tried getting him to do it before, but he couldn't figure out how to), he says he submitted it, and another teacher even confirmed that it had been submitted through the Naviance administration page. However, both in Naviance (as in progress), and on the common app (as not received), there is no indication that it was submitted. Does the guidance counselor have to give the final OK to send the recommendation? If that's true, my counselor has a policy of NO WORK WHATSOEVER from December 22nd to January 6th. Does this mean that I'm out of options? The teachers can't do anything else apparently, is it up to the guidance counselor now? There's so little time left and I don't know what I'm going to do.

You can still meet application deadlines by getting your CommonApp submitted. It is typical for school reports and recommendations to follow within a week or two and admissions offices expect that. Just be sure to followup with counselor, and check application status with Admissions office to make sure it all gets there in a reasonable time.

Alex, I’ve been experiencing the same problem. Although my counselor said that both of my teachers have submitted recs, they still won’t show up on CommonApp. I’ve contactecd both CommonApp and Naviance, but their answers were very vague and they also suggested that I launch new browsers, which did not work. So, I’m submitting my CommonApp on time, but I’ll just have to contact my schools directly and explain the situation to them.
