<p>Okay... I'm in my second year (third semester) at a community college, and up 'til now I've gotten all A's and one or two B's, except last semester, when I had some personal problems and got an F in one of my classes, which I'll be making up next semester (and probably receive an A). This semester, my grades look to be all A's again---except there's been a mixup with a class I was supposed to withdraw from, and I'm officially not withdrawn/have not taken several tests, but the school says it's too late to do anything now and I'll probably end up getting a terrible grade in it and having to retake it (and receive an A).</p>
<p>Other than these 2 screwups, I have a 3.8+ GPA, and if I made them up with A's my GPA would go back to its normal state.</p>
<p>I'm a competitive student and got a 2100 on my SATs, got 750+ on my SATIIs, and I'm getting almost all A's now, and this is my second chance at going to a top tier school. I also do volunteer work at UCLA for my major (Anthropology), hold down a 30-hr/wk job with a grassroots/nonprofit group, and have participated in an exclusive international program for my major, which I'll be doing again this summer.</p>
<p>How do you think that these 2 F's (though made up w/A's) will affect my acceptances? Is this going to harm me a lot? If the bad grades have been corrected, are top tier schools very forgiving? They'll still show up on my transcript. And what's worse is that it happened in 2 separate semesters. Ergh.</p>
<p>I was hoping, up 'til now, for Berkeley. Perhaps NYU. </p>
<p>How do you think the average top-tier admissions will react to this situation?
Help. :( I will be so, so so disappointed if I've ****ed up my "last chance."</p>
