I am trying to submit the Common Application to Washington University in St. Louis, and under "Supplements" it says that I must submit the Arts and Athletic Supplement before I submit my application. The Athletics Supplement as already been submitted but I would prefer to submit the Arts Supplement via paper (which it says is an option), because I have already created the CD and my teacher recommendation has already been mailed. However, every time I attempt to click "Submit" (for the Common App), the site will not let me proceed because it states that I have not completed my Arts Supplement. How can I bypass this and proceed with my submission? Thank you!!

I can't see this one, but found something that might help in the Application Support Center: Check your "Future Plans" page for this college. Is there a checkbox for offline submission of the Arts Supplement?

Thanks for your help..that's why I am so confused.
There was a check box for Dartmouth, but under future plans for Wash U. there is not even an option that says "no arts supplement". For some reason it seems to automatically assume I am submitting an arts supplement (which I am), and it won't allow me to submit my application without it being submitted online. Ah!

Hmmm... that sounds like a bug in the Web site, worth contacting the commonapp.org support folks. You can submit a ticket to them at this address:
Support Center

In the meantime, maybe it would be wise to fill out the Arts Supplement form online anyway... and where it says "List the contents of the CD," write something like, "Please refer to the paper copy of this form, which has been mailed with my CD." And the same thing for any documents the Web site wants to make you upload (e.g., resumes) Would that work for you?

i have the same problem too!!
shud we call washu or common app upport center?

The Common App Support Center would be your best bet.

hey so somehow i was able to work it all out. i still have no idea why i had the problem in the first place though. i contacted the support center through common app, and after hours of emails back and forth somebody logged into my account and removed the "required art supplement". I don't understand how, but i was able to submit the app with a problem. let me know if it works for you, good luck =)

and thanks for your help!

wait, does wash u take the common app arts supplement?

that would be extremely nice, but it isn't giving me that option!

Look on your Future Plans page for WU. If it doesn't include a question asking you whether you'll send the Arts Supplement, then WU doesn't take the supplement.

yea wash u does ilovepeople712 but i think there is a glitch on common app with it..i sent mine via paper to be safe. future plans doesn't pose the question but just like yours didn't offer arts supp, mine assumed i was submitting one!
