There are sections where I have to fill out my freshman to junior grades. There are section that asks you what social science/history classes I took that year. But I am pretty sure no one took social science/history classes in my grade sophomore year. What classes should I put? Should I leave it empty?
Also the section says trisemester but we only have 2 semesters? Should I leave that section blank?
Yes, leave the third section blank if you have semesters. If you didn’t take a social science class sophomore year, what did you take instead? You should list all your classes.
I think social science/history is a mandatory subject for high schools. If your school did not offer such subject, maybe you can ask your guidance counsellor on its equivalent subject.
Hi!
My school also doesn’t offer a social sciences course for sophomore year, so I just left it blank. Haven’t gotten any complaints so far, and it matches up with my grade transcript, so I don’t think it’ll be an issue.
Surprised you guys don’t have a history or social science class sophomore year, but if you don’t, you don’t. No US History like APUSH or anything?
@CADREAMIN We have Modern World History for freshman year, APUSH for junior year, and US or Comparative Gov senior year.
Current sophomores at my high school have the option of taking AP Human Geo now, but that course wasn’t offered when I was a sophomore!
How does it work at your school? I didn’t think my school’s system was unusual, but idk how other schools go haha
@mintchipmagic Schools vary and what students choose varies, but “typical” schedule at our school is World History Fresh, APUSH Soph, American/U.S. Gov/Macro Econ (reg or AP) as a Junior, then Psych (reg or AP) as Senior the other social sciences to choose from like Civics, Global Women’s/Feminist Issues through History, Sociology of Media, African American Experience, California History, European History. So there are 4 years of SS if you want them. Our HS requires 7 semesters, so 3 1/2 years with last semester used as SS, technology elective or visual/performing arts elective, that kind of thing.

@CADREAMIN !!! Those senior year courses sound awesome–as someone who really loves the social sciences, I’d love it if my school offered classes like those!
(And back atcha–West Coast best coast!)
