help needed in choosing the year abroad university in the US

I've been accepted to 'International business w/ american bus studies' at the University of Manchester. On my the 3rd year I'll attend aa year at an American university, and although the preferred destination is not always guaranteed, I wondered if you lot could give me advice on which uni to pick in terms of prestige (and the reputation of the business school in particular) and non-academic life.

NB. My knowlegde of American universities is close to none.

Current options are:

Babson College, Wellesley, Massachusetts
New York University
Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia
The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
The Pennsylvania State University
The University of Massachusetts, Amherst
McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario
College of William and Mary, Virginia
The University of British Columbia, Vancouver
University of Florida, Gainesville
Richard Ivey School of Business, London, Western Ontario
University of Calgary
Carlson School of Management, Minnesota.

also, just out of interest, how does the University of Virginia (UVA?) compare with these ones, because it's an option at another university that I've got an offer from.

Oh yeah and you can pretty much dismiss the unis in Canada I'm not that interested in studying up there =)

Will you be enrolled in NYU's business school, Stern, or not? That is seen as one of the best undergraduate business schools in the country. Also, if you are into entrepeneuring, Babson is the place to go.

"in terms of prestige (and the reputation of the business school in particular) and non-academic life."

if you care about the rep of the business school, NYU is the way to go

and as for the non-academic life, New York City is the place to be

NYU is also a very internationally oriented university, so that will fit in well with your international business, and New York City is essentially the business capital of the United States, so you'll definitely be best off there with regard to your "'International business w/ american bus studies" program

btw im in high school, not an NYU student, so i dont think im that biased

I think the choice is very easy for you

UVA is actually ranked higher than every other school on your list for overall academics....yes stern's finance is better

UVA is definately a good choice but it doesn't feature on his list....

sORRY BOUT THE LAST POST GUESS I OVERLOOKED HIS LAST STATEMENT....

hehehehe no problem

also, Nash911, who is "untitled"?
