I just got an iPod, and I'm leaving tomorrow on vacation so I began to load music onto it. However, my current computer has Microsoft ME, not XP. Knowing this, a friend had given me a copy of the CD, with the CD Key attached. However, this key does not work for some reason.

What else can I do to get the songs from my computer onto my iPod? I am trying to compress my songs and send them through email to my other computer (which has XP), but that is not working. Any other suggestions?

you might wanna try a data cd. they can hold around 750 megabytes, so you should be able to transfer your music that way (assuming you have a cd burner). and yeah, i am responding on this other thread too on the off chance you don't check both.

I'm not sure there is a point to compressing MP3s as they are already compressed. How good are you with computers? You can just add your HDD from the ME computer to the XP computer as a slave, open it from the XP computer and move your music over, but I wouldn't do that unless you knew what you were doing.
